The Jussie Smollett story gets more sordid with every new tidbit.
Surprising absolutely no one, the disgraced âEmpireâ star allegedly had a physical relationship with one of his attackers. Evidently, Smollett visited an upscale Chicago gay bathhouse with Ambimbola âAbelâ Osundairo, one of the Nigerian brothers who âattackedâ him.
This explains why the brothers eagerly helped Smollett with his âMAGA hoaxâ. In his original false report, Smollett claimed that two white bigots attacked him with racist and homophobic epithets, bleach, and a noose.
At its height, the story divided America and supported the Leftâs claim of a racist America under President Donald Trump.
But the story quickly fell apart amidst inconsistencies, and Smollett faced charges.
Another Twist in the Already-Sordid Jussie Smollett Story
An insider with knowledge of the new information said:
âThey used to party together and he had a sexual relationship with [Abel]. They went to this affluent Chicago bathhouse multiple times and they had to show ID. Itâs known as a bathhouse where a lot of affluent black gay men hang out. There should be a record [of their visits].âÂ
The same insider added that the bathhouse records are open to subpoena as part of Smollettâs upcoming disorderly conduct trial.
Denials Continue
However, Abel and Ola Osundairo vehemently deny they are gay. Last year, they filed a defamation lawsuit after Smollettâs lawyers hinted at a sexual relationship with one of the brothers.
The suit claimed the lawyersâ comments put the Osundairo brothers and their entire family at risk. In Nigeria, homosexuality is a crime punishable by up to 14 years in prison. If the person is married, the penalty is death by stoning.
The Osundairoâs attorney read a statement on their behalf:
âWe have sat back and watched lie after lie being fabricated about us in the media only so one big lie can continue to have life. These lies are destroying our character and our reputation in our personal and professional lives.â
âThose who know us personally know that we do not have hate for anyone, that is not who we are. We try to spread as much love and positivity to whoever we come into contact with. We will no longer sit back and allow these lies to continue,â the statement continued.
Jussie Smollett: The Legal Battle Goes On
Smollett refutes the claim that the brothers helped him stage the racial attack hoax in 2019. He says he gave the brother $3,500 for performance-enhancing drugs, not to stage a fake hate crime.
Smollett says the brothers, who were extras on âEmpireâ, set him up.
But the Osundairos claim in their lawsuit that Jussie Smollett âused his clout as a wealthy actor to influenceâ. As two men âaspiring to make it in Hollywoodâ, they were susceptible to manipulation by the star.
The lawsuit says, âMr. Smollettâs motivation was simple. He wanted his employer and the public to notice and appreciate him as a successful black, openly gay actor. So, Mr. Smollett directed every aspect of the attack, including the location and noose. âÂ
âOla and Abel Osundairo have no interest in bringing further attention to false statements⌠It is obvious the defendants in this lawsuit want to litigate in the media. Ola and Abel Osundairo are focused on revealing all the relevant information in this matter the right way: under oath and in a court of law.â
