Donald Trump received a significant bump in polling after the assassination attempt against him.
Many voters who were either unsure or on the fence suddenly decided they were going to vote for Trump.
It turns out, the media is already on this, hoping to stop the momentum by burying the iconic photo of Trump pumping his fist with blood running down his face.
Stop Circulating the Picture
Evan Nucci, a photographer for the Associated Press, was in the right place at the right time.
The only good thing that came out of the horrific breakdown of the Secret Service protocols that day was Trumpâs photo.
Axios, however, is now reporting that the media should ban the photo to stop helping Trump.
They have even called the shot âphotoganda,â and they are trying to shut it down.
A photo editor who spoke with Axios on the subject stated, “The amount that publications have been using Evan’s photo is kind of free PR for Trump in a way, and it’s dangerous for media organizations to keep sharing that photo despite how good it is.â
Psychotherapist Jonathan Alter offered his two cents on how this would help Trump in the election, stating, “The image and the preceding event perfectly capture the raw vulnerability of a powerful former leader at his most vulnerable moment likely ever in his life, only to be followed by that of perseverance, strength, and defiance in the face of evil.
“This image very well encapsulates the essence of what most Americans have come to admire in our heroes –both in fiction and in real life — and in those we look towards to lead: emerging from chaos with resilience and authority, and unwavering toughness.
“Frankly, one that might change the narrative on âtoxic masculinity.â”
Ironically, had the Secret Service been doing its job that day, the photo never would have been taken.
Protocol is for the agents to surround Trump, with nothing of the protectee being visible to a possible shooter.
Trump pushed past the agents to pump his fist, then Trumpâs head and upper torso were left exposed during the majority of the cover and move to Trumpâs transportation.
Had there been a second shooter, Trump would have been dead. They were all very lucky this was just a lone psychopath that was out to get Trump.
