Historian Makes Devastating Prediction for Trump

Douglas Brinkley, a well-known presidential historian, offered a gloomy outlook for President Trump’s future.

According to Brinkley, Trump’s supporters are going to abandon him very soon and Donald Trump is in “deep trouble.”

The Worst Is Yet to Come

Brinkley thinks support for Trump is waning and impeachment will be the breaking point for most people.

He stated, “It just tells you what deep trouble Donald Trump is in. I mean, when you have 50 percent of the country wanting you not just impeached but removed from office, and the game hasn’t even gotten fast yet.

“I think once the vote is taken by Congress to impeach him and he’s wearing the ‘I’ on his chest, you’re going to see that movement grow even more.

“It tells you he doesn’t have a lot of friends.

“He’s a base politician. He doesn’t know how to turn this around.”

Brinkley also offered up a strategy to beat Trump, stating, “I think the Democrats might want to look at the way Jimmy Carter pulled off victory in 1976.

“He took the high road. He ran on saying, I will never tell a lie to you.

“He didn’t have to say Nixon’s lies or Lyndon Johnson’s lies, just that I am clean, good governance coming your way if you vote for me.”

Joe Biden must have listened to him because he has already launched his “No Malarkey” tour where he promised to tell everyone the truth.

Why Brinkley is Wrong

First and foremost, you have to understand that Brinkley is a regular contributor on CNN, so he is going to say what the network wants him to say.

After all, we cannot expect someone collecting a check from CNN to actually say something nice about Trump, can we?

Now, Brinkley may be a presidential historian, but he clearly does not understand Trump’s base and the Independent voters in this country.

We have already seen the impact the impeachment has had on Independents, and it has not been good for the future of the Democrat party.

Recent polls show support for Trump is only rising with every passing day, which is completely the opposite of Brinkley’s prognostication.

If Democrats do move forward and impeach Trump in the House, I believe most Americans will be even more pissed off than they already are and they will take it out on House and Senate Democrats, removing them from office and turning complete control over to the Republicans.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, has swayed Trump’s base to this point and that base seems to get bigger and stronger every day.

So, bring on the impeachment vote and let’s see who gets this one right!
