Soon after President Trump announced the death of his younger brother, Robert Trump, the hashtag #wrongtrump began trending on Twitter. From journalists to NAACP leaders, Left-wing Twitter became inundated with death wishes for the sitting United States president.
Left-Wing Twitter’s Newest Low Point
Becoming the second highest trending on Twitter, 77,600 tweets using the hashtag #wrongtrump were present as of Sunday morning. These tweets highlighted the new level to which Trump Derangement Syndrome has afflicted the Left. The hashtag centered around the idea that it should have been President Trump that died, rather than his brother.
Many people took to Twitter to denounce the hashtag, including some on the Left who openly despise the president. One such tweet was written by mental health advocate Kenidra Wood, stating: “I dislike trump with my whole heart & he will never get my vote but theĀ #wrongtrump hashtag makes me so uncomfortable as a human being with a heart and compassion for life that anyone would joke about “the wrong person dying”. Feel how u feel about it but itās beyond cold for me.”
Fond Words for His Brother
President Trump issued a heartfelt statement following the news of his brother’s passing: “He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.”
Robert Trump
