Trump Administration Dealt Crushing Blow on Immigration Policy by Courts

Donald Trump-2

The courts have once again dealt the Trump administration a crippling blow.

A federal court ruling in Oregon has put the brakes on an immigration policy put into effect by the Trump administration in an effort to curb the flow of immigrants relying on public assistance to live in this country.

Another Liberal Judge

The sitting judge in the case was U.S. District Judge Michael Simon.

Simon was put on the bench in 2011 by Barack Obama.

So, once again, we have an Obama or Clinton-appointed judge that is blocking the Trump administration from being able to do its job.

Honestly, I donā€™t even know why the administration bothers to send an attorney to these cases because the outcome is decided long before arguments are even heard.

The Policy

The new policy the administration was trying to put in place was more or less a substitute for having a merit-based immigration system.

The administration wanted immigrants coming into the country to be able to provide proof they would be able to afford their own health care coverage before entering the country.

Considering how much money taxpayers in this country pay towards free health care already, this does not seem like an extreme measure.

That, however, is not how Democrats see things.

These are the exact people they want in the country because the more people that rely on the government, the more likely they are to vote for the people willing to give them everything for nothing, which is what Democrat policy seems to be these days.

The White House cited costs for ā€œfreeā€ care over the last ten years as the reason for the new policy.

According to that report, over the last decade, there has been more than $35 billion in ā€œunreimbursed services.ā€

That, however, is not reason enough according to Judge Simon, who is accusing Trump of violating the Constitution by implementing this policyā€¦

Over the course of history, changes have been made to our immigration policies to adapt to the times, but that apparently will never happen during the Trump administration.

When Democrats donā€™t like a policy, they simply take it to court in a district where they believe they have the best chance of one of their own hearing the case because they know the hearing itself is a mere formality.
