Tragic Accident At Florida Theme Park…

theme park

When I was a kid, I loved going to theme parks and water parks. Well, not so much the water parks.

My mother was terrified of taking us to water parks. Sure, if we went to visit my aunt she would take us and just not tell my mom.

But my mom hated the idea of water parks. She said it was just someone asking to pay to drown.

We lived near a lake and a river, and we used to be on the water all the time. She never had that problem with there because she knew that we were going to be taking precautions.

Water parks, however, they don’t have as many precautions as one would take if you were on your own.

Sure, they have the lifeguards and all that but at the end of the day, you want to put your life in someone else’s hands as little as possible

I always thought that my mom was out of her mind when it came to water parks.

Then I had children of my own and it is almost as if I started feeling the same nervousness about my kids that she did about us.

I started getting a little more attentive to the rides and attractions that my kids wanted to go on.

The water rides are always way more dangerous than people realize.

Recently a thirteen-year-old girl was pulled from a pool at Discovery Cove, a sister park to Orlando’s SeaWorld park after she was found unresponsive.

Originally the young girl was taken to the hospital in critical condition but passed away the following day.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much known other than that. SeaWorld out of respect for the family is not revealing any more details than they need to.

I can get that, but from a safety standpoint, there should be a little more transparency than what they are exhibiting at the moment.

Say I was planning on taking my kids to SeaWorld next week. I would probably want to know the rides or attractions that someone DIED ON so I can keep a sharper eye on whether or not they end up going on that ride.

That being said, always, always, always, keep an eye on your kids when you are at one of these parks with them.
