Top Dem Spends Lavishly on ‘Campaign’ Trip Abroad

Just how much money do politicians just “blow” out of their campaign funds and how much do they abuse spending?

Let’s take a quick look at a recent trip by Senator Doug Jones (D-AL) where he spent about $3,500 on lavish travel accommodations.

First Class All the Way

Politicians get a taste for the good life and they don’t want to give it up.

Individuals that could not even afford a luxury sedan rental car are suddenly traveling first class all the time simply because they are not footing the bill.

A recent trip by Senator Jones shows just how much of a problem that really is.

Jones was traveling abroad on a “fundraising” trip for an event in Paris.

The event was being held with Americans abroad that want to help him in his upcoming fight to keep the Democrat in what is usually a red Senate seat.

During the trip, he spent $487 at a luxury hotel in Paris, almost $1,300 at a 5-star hotel in London, and almost $1,200 on Eurostar rail travel, which we just assume was all first-class considering his spending habits.

There was also a ticket for $533.66 with Easy Jet.

All of the funding came out of Jones’ campaign fund because it was considered a fundraising trip, but this looks a lot more like a vacation than a campaign trip.

This is not the first trip of this kind Jones has taken, either.

All told, the report stated that Jones has raised about $100,000 by making these trips, but we would have to ask if he is in the red or black when his lavish spending has been accounted for.

We see politicians do this all the time and the campaign abuse gets much worse.

Use past Biden campaigns as an example.

Biden had his sister as his campaign manager for most of his career, paying her millions in salary in the process.

Additionally, she worked for a private firm that made $2.5 million from the 2008 campaign alone.

So, next time you get ready to sign a check for any campaign, check out their campaign finance records first to see just how much of that money is going to support the candidate and how much is being used to provide them with a lavish lifestyle they could not otherwise afford.
