Liberals created a problem and they can’t wait to get their hands on federal tax dollars to fix it, sort of. The liberal Democrat residents of Flint, Michigan, are finally admitting that they have a problem, and this time it isn’t the water. Conservatives can say “I told you so” all day long but Antifa® brand anarchists with Black Lives Matter™ are still calling the shots.
Throw dollars at them
It seems that there has been a “rapid rise in gun violence” in their progressive city, so officials in Flint, Michigan, are convinced their citizens have way too many guns. Mayor Sheldon Neeley has thoughtfully declared a state of emergency, so they can throw money at the problem.
Not their money, federal tax dollars. They won’t get spent where you would imagine though. The last thing they want to do is un-defund the police.
Flint “has had 39 homicides this year,” Flint Police Chief Terence Green related at a recent news conference. “Non-fatal shootings in the city have also risen by 80% year-over-year, with 188 reported in 2021 compared to 88 in all of 2020.”
Chief Green declares, “this gun violence must stop. This circle of retaliation violence must stop.” Only he’s still not allowed to stop it. They’ll just throw dollars.
From now on when one of frequent shootouts happens, a high priced crisis response team will appear on the scene to dispense even more dollars.
The team “led by Flint Police Det. Sergeant Tyrone Booth” will be “comprised of special law enforcement training officers and detectives, a medical professional, child advocate professional, resource coordinator, social worker and community activist liaison.” There won’t be any real cops but “clergy will also be” part of the crew.
Pallets of cash
As reported by local outlets, the state of emergency declaration “signed by Neeley Friday, July 23, allows the city to provide a high level of resources to address gun violence in the city.” It allows “the city to tap into additional money in the American Rescue Plan.”
That means taxpayer dollars. A “$1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill signed into law” by His Wisdom Joe Biden. They already loaded up a few pallets of cash and shipped “$94 million to the city of Flint.”
“When an officer gets a call to a violent gun crime, that officer then will make an assessment and then make a call back to dispatch,” Neeley explains. “A commander will then make a decision to engage the team.”
They need all those dollars to hire “more qualified personnel in the city.” Not police. They are still defunded. They want doctors, social workers and priests rolling up on the next armed robbery in progress.
If everything goes well the city will have the dollars flowing like the St. Clair river by the end of August. The city tried to hire a few police officers but found out nobody wants to have anything to do with working for them, so they’re recruiting twice as many social workers.
City officials are convinced if they go out and ask politely the crips and the bloods will surrender their weapons and make peace with each other. Or else, they’ll run out of your money, whichever comes first.
