A soon to be mother was killed in New York City as she was carrying gifts back into her home from her baby shower.
Shanice Young, 31, was a mother of two, and was expecting her third child in just a few weeks.
As she was walking up to her building just after 1 a.m., a fight broke out between two men: her ex-boyfriend and the father of her unborn child.
According to police, one of the men had a gun, which went off during the scuffle. A bullet hit Young in the head.
When the officers arrived at the scene on West 128th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, the soon to be mother was unconscious and unresponsive.
According to reporting from ABC 7, police are still trying to determine which of the two men pulled the trigger.
So far, police have not made any arrests in relation to the incident, and have not publicly released any information about the shooter, who is still on the run.
A memorial has been set up for Young and her unborn daughter on the sidewalk where they were killed. It is unclear what will happen to her two other daughters, or her two younger siblings, who she was caring for.
