Senator Schumer Does the Unthinkable… White House FUMING

Chuck Schumer

Joe Biden has a judiciary nominee that has been parked in the Senate forever.

Biden is refusing to withdraw his name, hoping that Democrats will rally and push the nominee through.

Word on the street, however, is that Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has other plans.

Bad Vetting

I do now know who is doing Joe Biden’s vetting for the judiciary, but it has been pretty awful.

We have seen dozens of nominees embarrassed by Senator Kennedy (R-LA) for not knowing the basics of law.

One of those is Adeel A. Mangi, who has actually faced resistance on both sides of the aisle.

Former GOP Senate spokesman Ron Bonjean explained, “This nominee has lost all hope from the Biden White House of getting a floor vote, given we are months away from the election.

“They are more than likely going to let him twist in the wind hoping he withdraws on his own.”

Rather than rally the troops for a late passage, Schumer seems to be intent on letting the clock expire on the nomination.

This would be far better before an election than flooring the nominee and having it blocked by fellow Democrats.

Grant Reeher, a political science professor at Syracuse University, explained, “Having a vote and losing it, due to members of your own party, would only serve to advertise the problems the president is having related to the Israel-Hamas war.”

Mangi is facing resistance due to his ties to some less-than-savory characters, most notably anti-police groups.

Even so, I am surprised that Schumer, who has clearly put a priority on stuffing the judiciary to counter all of Donald Trump’s appointments, being unable to convince Biden to pull the nominee and put another name up rather than simply allowing the clock to run out here.

Whatever the reason, this is good news for the GOP, as it will be just one more vacancy to be filled when the GOP takes over the White House.
