Chief Justice Roberts is trying to keep a lid on the identity of the whistleblower, but he may not be able to do so for much longer.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) presented a question exposing the man’s name, but it was blocked by Justice Roberts, but Senator Paul does not appear to be giving up his quest anytime soon.

Not on My Watch

The laws regarding the protection of whistleblowers are going to be highly discussed over the next few days.

While there are protections for them, they are not protected from having their identity protected from everyone.

The protections for whistleblowers are to ensure they do not suffer workplace repercussions… they have nothing to do with keeping their identity a complete secret.

In fact, multiple national publications, including CNN and The New York Times, have even had to concede that neither Congress nor the President is required to protect the identity of this individual.

To that point, Senator Paul submitted a question regarding the whistleblower, but it was blocked by Justice Roberts to keep the identity from being revealed (or should we say confirmed, since so many people have already assumed the identity of this man).

Paul, however, is not quite ready to give up his fight.

After the latest session, Paul stated, “It’s still an ongoing process; it may happen tomorrow.”

About the 6th Amendment

The fact Trump has been impeached in the House and is now fighting for the right to remain in office due to this complaint does provide Trump with rights.

Per the 6th Amendment, Trump is entitled to face his accuser, but Schiff, and now Roberts, are not allowing that to happen.

The fact that Roberts ruled against Paul is not the end of this, however, because the Senate can vote to overrule his decision.

If a vote passes for witnesses, we can fully expect the alleged whistleblower, Eric Ciaramella (an analyst for the CIA and previously an NSC holdover from the Obama administration) to be called to appear.

Schiff has continued to lie about his relationship with this man, a fact that was called out by Rep. Stefanik (R-N.Y.…

Even though Republicans have been defeated thus far on this, do not expect that narrative to continue.

The moment a vote for witnesses passes, all bets are off, and Republicans will surely go for the throat.

And, believe me, the whistleblower being called will be the least of Democrats’ worries.
