Things are getting crazy at the Capitol.

Republicans Storm Hearing

Republicans are finally starting to use some of the tactics Democrats have used to disrupt impeachment hearings.

A group of House Republicans led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) held a brief press conference before trying to storm into a closed-door hearing being held by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA).

Calling Out Schiff

Adam Schiff has been holding private hearings to lock down testimony by witnesses that will support the Democrat narrative over Trump’s call to Ukraine’s president.

In a normal world, members of Congress on relevant committees would be able to request to attend these meetings, but this is far from a normal world.

Some House Republicans are getting sick and tired of being left out in the cold, so they decided to pull a play on disruption from the Democrat playbook.

Led by Rep. Gaetz, numerous Republicans stormed into the room, which resulted in Rep. Schiff leaving the room and taking his witness with him.

Initial Outrage Reversed

When the story first broke, Senator Lindsey Graham was openly upset with the tactics being used by House Republicans.

Graham was quoted as saying, “They’re making a run at the SCIF! That’s not the way to do it. That’s nuts.”

Later, when Graham had the actual facts behind what happened, he reversed course because it was a peaceful protest, not quite the “attack” the media was initially reporting.

What Transparency?

Democrats have always claimed they transparent in all of their dealings, but nothing could be more secretive than what is going on during this impeachment inquiry.

Schiff is closing the door to every possible hearing and deposition that he can, keeping his Republican colleagues in the dark about what they are doing.

Finally, Republicans are starting to show a little backbone and go at Democrats they way they have gone after this administration for more than two years.
