Establishment Republicans, or RINOs, are known for constantly bending the knee to Democrats to avoid bad press from the left-wing mainstream media, and this one is no exception.
Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, a so-called Republican, has sided with the left on COVID mandates.
While his peers, such as Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, have stood firm against forcing children to wear masks, Holcomb has decided that it’s fine to abuse children.
“I think the schools that are putting mask mandates into place are making a wise decision when the facts warrant it,” Holcomb said. “I’m not surprised by the pushback having lived through the last year and a half.”
Masking Children is Abusive
COVID has over a 99% survival rate, and the number is even higher for children. Without a serious pre-existing condition such as leukemia or kidney failure, the mortality rate for children with COVID is virtually zero. Studies indicate that children have strong natural immunity to COVID, have better outcomes than adults when hospitalized, and spread the virus less than adults.
An article from Paul Alexander describes the facts behind children’s COVID risks. For reference, here are his credentials first: “Alexander received his bachelor’s degree in epidemiology from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, a master’s degree from Oxford University, and a PhD from McMaster University’s Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact.”
Here is Alexander’s verdict on masking children:
“Children do not readily acquire SARS-CoV-2 (very low risk), spread it to other children or teachers, or endanger parents or others at home. This is the settled science. In the rare cases where a child contracts Covid virus it is very unusual for the child to get severely ill or die. Masking can do positive harm to children – as it can to some adults. But the cost benefit analysis is entirely different for adults and children – particularly younger children. Whatever arguments there may be for consenting adults – children should not be required to wear masks to prevent the spread of Covid-19.”
Make no mistake, masking your children is abusing them. Children are in a developmental stage, where being able to read lips and facial cues is integral to their social development.
Not only is making your child wear a mask intellectually and socially harmful, but it can actually be physically harmful as well.
A small study conducted in Gainesville, Florida, of masks worn by children revealed that their masks harbored 11 dangerous (non-COVID) pathogens. These pathogens included Mycobacterium tuberculosis (causes tuberculosis), Neisseria meningitidis (meningitis), Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme disease), and Escherichia coli (causes severe diarrhea), amongst others.
Of course, major institutions and government agencies like the CDC and NIH have not yet performed these studies. I wonder why. It might have something to do with the fact that they don’t want the results to have an impact on their tyrannical agenda.
Holcomb’s Decision
Yet, Governor Holcomb is completely ignoring the science, just as the Democrats are, and he is allowing children to be abused.
The governor is attempting to take the cowardly role, saying that he will not enforce a statewide mask mandate, but giving local authorities, schools, and businesses the option to implement them if they choose to. But the results are obvious, as schools are overwhelmingly staffed by leftists.
By bending the knee to the Democrats, Holcomb is allowing the abuse of children in his state, and he should be punished for it at the ballot box.
