House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has apparently decided to circumvent the President and is attempting to take over foreign policy all on her own.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Pelosi led a last-minute and unannounced delegation to the Middle East to try to influence our nation’s foreign policy.
Going Rogue
Most of the House is unhappy with the agreement that VP Pence made with Turkey to halt military operations for five days pending a permanent ceasefire.
The fact that Turkey violated the agreement less than 48 hours after it was made did not win any favors in Congress, so now Nancy Pelosi is taking matters into her own hands.
Rather than allow the Trump administration to deal with it, Pelosi decided to put together a delegation of mostly Democrats that despise Trump and head over to the Middle East.
Pelosi’s office issued a statement on the visit, saying, “With the deepening crisis in Syria after Turkey’s incursion, our delegation has engaged in vital discussions about the impact to regional stability, increased flow of refugees, and the dangerous opening that has been provided to ISIS, Iran, and Russia.”
Translation: I don’t like what Trump is doing so I am going to take a delegation of biased politicians over to the Middle East to undermine the administration.
What Do We Really Expect?
Pelosi is touting this delegation as being bipartisan, but from what we saw of the delegation list, there was only one Republican included in the trip, Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX), who serves on the House Armed Services Committee.
Thornberry has been vocally against Trump on the Syrian withdrawal, so, in essence, Pelosi is taking a carload of people on this trip that already agree with her and disagree with Trump, so what do we really expect to come from this trip?
The House has several issues on the docket that should be up for debate and vote, among them the new trade deal between Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Instead of doing her actual job, Pelosi is instead undermining the administration as she goes on some rogue trip to the Middle East in order to come back with something negative about Trump so she can spin another negative narrative.
These people have to be removed from office come 2020 because we simply cannot have a Congress that is dead set on obstructing a president from the job he was voted into office to do.
In the meantime, just wait for the report by Pelosi when she gets back from this trip because we can guarantee it will be extremely negative and paint a picture of pure desperation just so anti-Trumpers in Congress can continue to attack Trump.
