Britney Spears is on fire. Or, to be more precise, her home gym was.
Spears revealed that she accidentally burned down the gym in her with candles that were left burning unattended.
While posting a workout video on Instagram, the 38-year-old pop superstar shared the scary details.
“Hey, guys! I am in my gym right now. I haven’t been in here for, like, six months, because I burned my gym down unfortunately.”
She added, “I had two candles, and yes, one thing led to another, and I burned it down!”
“It was an accident… but yes… I burnt it down. I walked past the door to the gym and flames BOOM!!!!!!”
She focused on the bright side, saying, “By the Grace of God the alarm went off after that and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt.”
But Spears also lamented the bad side. “Unfortunately now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol and a one-sided mirror gym!!!!!”
Britney Spears: Two Forms of Stress Relief DO NOT Mix
According to a source close to Britney Spears, the candles are a type of self-care for the singer.
“During tough times in her life she always tells friends ‘light a candle for me. She has candles all over her house, because she finds the scent and light calming when life gets stressful. Her fans always send her candles as gifts, because they know she loves to burn them at night and sit by candlelight.”
And as far as working out goes, that is Spears’ go-to stressbuster.
“She spends endless hours in her gym and it’s her favorite time of the day. Working out is one of the most important parts of her daily routine. It keeps her healthy and mentally occupied,” the source explained.”
Spears has a well-publicized history of mental health struggles. She has had a tough time during the coronavirus crisis. Because they self-isolated separately, she and boyfriend Sam Asghari have been physically apart for weeks.
But all is well today, according to Britney Spears herself. “But it could be much worse so I’m grateful. Pssss I like working out better outside anyways,” she concluded happily.
