Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) picked the wrong time to play politics and now she is paying a big price.
After Ivanka Trump shared a post for how families can keep their children occupied during the quarantine, Omar decided to slam her on illegal immigrant child separation cases…
Thinking of all the families separated forcefully by your father’s policies today.
Share your ideas on how you plan to unite them. #TogetherApart https://t.co/cv2g8Oclvc

Lessons Learned
We all have political differences, but there are times when you need to put some of that pettiness aside.
Ivanka was doing nothing more than trying to provide an uplifting message while Americans are reeling with the realities of the coronavirus.
Omar could have just let the post slide without commenting but instead, she decided to slam Ivanka.
Needless to say, the comments did not go over very well and the backlash was immediate on social media…
Now? During the crisis? Free immigration now? Open borders? You've displayed your opportunistic political virtue signaling, lack of patriotism and blatant hypocrisy once again.

So families were not separated under Obama?
Let me educate you sis! Ivanka isn't separated from her family because she did not illegally enter someone else country
All of the legal migrants are with their families as we speak and those who had a legit asylum claim
U r a liar!

The Reality of Child Separation
Democrats would love everyone to believe Donald Trump created this policy and built the holding pens the Democrats love to refer to as cages.
That, however, is not the case.
The legislation was written during the Bush administration.
Ironically, it was Bush’s wife that slammed Trump for enforcing the policy.
As far as the pens go, they were built during the Obama administration.
Additionally, Omar seems to forget that the parents of these children are the truly guilty parties.
They know our laws and they what awaits them as well as the dangers of the journey itself, yet they continue to violate our immigration laws.
Let’s try holding those responsible for actually doing the crime rather than those enforcing the laws.
