I would like to think that I have a pretty good relationship with my neighbors.
Now, don’t get me wrong we aren’t in each other’s business or talk every day but it’s one of those things where I think each one of us knows that you can trust the other.
Give you an example, I once had to go out of town on very short notice to tend to a family emergency. I was talking to my neighbor about it while we were getting out respective mail and his first question was if I needed someone to feed my dogs while I was gone.
I said I had it covered but I appreciated the gesture.
When he would set up his Halloween display every year, I would help him because I know what a pain that kind of thing can be.
People have to watch out for each other, because as I can tell you if there is a disaster or something like that your neighbors are going to be your first point of contact.
Which is why it pains me when I see neighbors that are feuding with each other.
For example, there are two neighbors in Orlando that I just learned about that are in a pretty bitter property dispute.
From what I could gather, the way the story goes is like this. One of the neighbors decided to build a open garage. Nothing wrong about that except that the person built the garage with a significant part of the structure on his neighbor’s property.
Now, the person who built the garage basically told their neighbor to pound sand as far as tearing it down and starting again.
To get back at them for their rudeness, the other neighbor built a fence along their property that went right through the center of the garage.
I have to admit, it might seem on the surface like doing something like that is a petty thing to do.
But if you are doing everything that you can to get a person to do the right thing and the don’t do it; sometimes you just have to force their hand.
