As usual, the liberal media is ignoring a monumental achievement by the Trump administration.
Honestly, were it not for a tweet by the First Lady, nobody probably would have even known about the drop in overdose deaths and the rise in life expectancy.
For the first time in 29 years, drug overdose deaths have dropped by 4.1% and life expectancy has increased by 4 years! Proud of this administration for ensuring a safer and healthier future for our nations children. #BeBest https://t.co/UwwKaVl7Dx

The Opioid Crisis
The fact that our country is struggling with a massive opioid addiction problem is not exactly a secret.
This is an issue that has garnered bipartisan support in an effort to find a solution.
For that very reason, we would have thought the mainstream media would have given this far more attention, but that is not the case.
You see, when anything portrays Trump in a positive manner, the media refuses to report it, even at the peril of the Democrats.
In this case, Melania Trump announced that for the first time in three decades, drug overdoses have dropped by a total of 4.1 percent.
This is a huge accomplishment in and of itself, but there was another great piece of news attached to it.
The life expectancy has also increased by four years!
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar stated, “The drop in overdose deaths shows that the president’s new level of focus on the opioid crisis, and the administration’s science- and community-based efforts to combat it, are beginning to make a significant difference.”
Think about this… opioids, over the last few years, have killed more Americans than were lost in Vietnam.
Yet, the media has largely ignored this progress.
At the heart of this achievement is Melania Trump’s “Be Best” program.
She has been working tirelessly to reach out to our children to ensure they are educated on the dangers of these drugs at a very young age to catch them before they even consider using opioids.
Even though the media attacks her regularly, her message is clearly sinking in.
The Be Best campaign site states, “It remains our generation’s moral imperative to take responsibility and help our children manage the many issues they are facing today, including encouraging positive social, emotional, and physical habits.
“The mission of BE BEST is to focus on some of the major issues facing children today, with the goal of encouraging children to BE BEST in their individual paths, while also teaching them the importance of social, emotional, and physical health. BE BEST will concentrate on three main pillars: well-being, online safety, and opioid abuse.”
Even though the media will not say it, we will… congratulations Melania! You are doing a great job and we all very much look forward to you continuing your work over the next five years.
