Democrats are fighting amongst themselves after a series of election losses. Joe Biden is turning his back on some of the more radical Left leaning members of the party. Many fear that outspoken Socialists are hurting the Democrats plans for reelection.
America rejects Socialism
The presidential election is turning out to be a major debacle. The Trump campaign has filed lawsuits contesting the vote in several battleground states. Joe Biden may end up in the White House in January, but there is still some good news to report.
The Republicans won some major victories in the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate will remain majority Republican. The GOP didn’t take control of the House, but they did unseat several Democratic incumbents and made some major gains setting the score at D-219 to R-203.
The lost elections in the House has sparked Democrat infighting, with many pointing fingers at who’s to blame. Abigail Spanberger is a more moderate Democrat from Virginia who just barely won her election against Republican challenger Nick Freitas.
Spanberger thinks the Democrats should have won big, but radical Left-wing Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are hurting them in the polls. Spanberger specifically points to the defund the police movement and the Green New Deal as two policies that many voters on the Left don’t agree with. “No one should say ‘defund the police’ ever again,” said Spanberger. “Nobody should be talking about Socialism.”
AOC is punching back, saying that her party is not progressive enough. However, she acknowledged that now is not the time for infighting. When asked about a possible role in the Biden administration, AOC said, “Oh God. In any other country, Joe Biden and I would not be in the same party, but in America, we are. It’s going to be more important than ever for us to work together and not fight each other.”
Democrats blame each other
Some leading Democrats are aware of the problem. Many quietly acknowledge that far Left party members such as Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are hurting them on the national stage.
The two former presidential candidates have been ruled out of having cabinet positions in the Biden administration. Sanders and Warren are outspoken Democratic Socialists who are calling for taxpayer funded “free” college and socialized health care.
They also support the Green New Deal, which proposes tax rates as high as 70%. House Rep. Spanberger warns Democrats that they will get “torn apart” in upcoming elections if they continue to rally around these far Left causes. She’s right.
The majority of Americans reject Socialism. The midterm elections are only a few years away and angry Trump supporters will get their revenge by voting these Socialist Democrats out of office.
