Karma Alert: CNN Staffers Attacked By Taliban Only Days After Claiming They Were ‘Friendly’

Taliban

Those “friendly” Taliban fighters just attacked the same camera crew who reported that controversial phrase. If that isn’t karma what is. Well, since I mentioned it, Clarissa Ward has the same question for Joe Biden. If what she’s filming in Kabul isn’t “failure,” what is?

Not so friendly Taliban

CNN’s chief international correspondent Clarissa Ward was “was accosted by” some young and confused Taliban fighters itching to shoot someone or beat them with their nifty, high-tech rubber truncheons. All this happened as she was reporting outside the Kabul airport.

The clip she posted features images including “being charged” by an armed terrorist, ready to whap her producer in the head with the butt of an AK-47. He calmed down when she flashed her CNN press pass.

Early on, she and her crew were singled out for attention because she didn’t have her face covered. Luckily she wasn’t whipped for the offense.

As periodic bursts of gunfire are heard in the distance, at one point, her cameraman catches a Taliban fighter switching the safety off his assault rifle and dashing through a crowd of people. Off to parts unknown but moving fast and with determination.

“It’s a very dicey situation.” The defiant westerner is appalled at how trigger happy these young punks are. “You can see that some of these Taliban fighters, they’re just hopped up on adrenaline or I don’t know what.”

Probably not much in a religion that frowns on anything fun. Hashish doesn’t do a lot for motivation and that’s the only recreational drug they approve of.

All sorts of insanity

It’s a stone age culture, Ward concluded. She and her crew have been “exposed to all sorts of insanity.”

As she explained to American colleague Jake Tapper, “We are a news crew. We are clearly Western. And still, we were exposed to all sorts of insanity. If you’re an ordinary Afghan trying to get past those Taliban guards and trying to get into the airport, I mean, I just don’t see how you’re able to do it.”

The simple answer is you can’t. The Taliban say they’re cooperating but they aren’t.

“I don’t see how you’re able to really get in unless you have some kind of a contact or a connection or you’re able to arrange something somehow. Frankly, Jake, there’s no real hope.” It’s all Joe Biden’s fault.

Ward took offense at Imperial Leader Joe Biden for claiming the fall of Afghanistan in record time was not a failure. She detailed “a diatribe about the things she’s witnessed since the fall of Afghanistan” into Taliban hands, asking “if this isn’t failure, what does failure look like?”

There’s “hysteria,” she continued. “You have Taliban fighters with whips, with guns. You have U.S. and U.K. soldiers who are not allowing people in. You have mixed messaging coming through about what kind of paperwork you need and how you can get on a flight and where you can go. It is just an absolute mess.
