White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has probably just set the Trump campaign into oblivion.
You know how Donald Trump has always claimed these suits against him were “rigged” and nothing more than Joe Biden weaponizing the DOJ against him?
Well, Jean-Pierre may have just proven him right.
The Timeline
To fully appreciate her words, we need to go back to when Donald Trump’s hush-money payments were first made.
The payments to Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels were made during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Yet, the Manhattan DA and the DOJ refused to prosecute the case until nearly seven years later, conveniently timed to interfere with the election season.
Hence the claim by Trump that this is election interference.
Fox Business Network’s Edward Lawrence broached the subject with Jean-Pierre, asking, “The president talks about threats to democracy…
“How is it not a threat to democracy when you have a prosecutor from the same political party as the president waiting seven years … to prosecute in an election year a former president who is now an opponent?”
Jean-Pierre responded, “That’s a question for the Department of Justice on their timeline and how this moves. I can’t answer that for you here.”
The DOJ’s timeline? What the??!!
Jean-Pierre later tried to walk this back and say that she meant to say Bragg’s timeline, but the Trump campaign had already jumped all over this.
It responded, “This wasn’t a misspeak as the White House claims, this was another example of KJP not knowing what the hell is going on, just like her boss, Crooked Joe.”
