Judge Rule ROCKS Election Results… This is HUGE

Last week we reported on a major problem in the presidential election in Guatemala.

The counting had been halted after a lawsuit was filed by 10 political parties, including the party that was in the lead.

Arévalo was a shocking surprise when the votes were tallied, which also had drama.

In the election, there were more disqualified votes than votes that were counted for candidates.

The court ruled that the election results are going to stand, and Arévalo will be headed to a runoff election.

He celebrated the decision, stating, “All of Guatemala is vigilant. Those of us who are defending democracy are the majority, and we are clear in our rejection of that corrupt minority that is desperately trying to manipulate public institutions and violate the constitutional order.”

If he is able to beat the appeal and somehow win the runoff, it would be a monstrous blow the corrupt political establishment in Guatemala.

To that point, Edgar Ortiz Romero, a constitutional law expert, stated, “This places us in the sad group of countries with advanced authoritarian features in which the legal system is used to attack opponents.”
