Ivanka Trump…OUT

Ivanka Trump

Donald Trump has always involved his children in his business world, so it was really no surprise when Ivanka Trump came aboard as a member of this administration.

With one term almost wrapped up and a second term imminent, Ivanka Trump stunned everyone by saying she may not return if her father is re-elected as president.

Family Time

Since Trump has been in office, Ivanka Trump has been right by his side.

During that time, she has played a rather significant role in prison reform, women’s rights, and as a generational sounding board for President Trump.

It is no secret that both Ivanka and her husband lean a bit more to the liberal side, so her input has enabled Trump to weigh that aspect of his agenda and policies.

Also during that time, Ivanka’s family has grown, and she is missing a lot of that time.

That seems to be the reason among all else that has her contemplating stepping away from the administration.

During a recent interview, Ivanka stated, “I am driven first and foremost by my kids and their happiness — so that’s always going to be my top priority, and my decisions will always be flexible enough to ensure that their needs are being considered first and foremost.

“So, they will really drive that answer for me.”

Even so, Ivanka says she still gets a thrill every day when she shows up for work.

She stated, “The day I walk into the West Wing and I don’t feel a shiver up my spine is the day I’ve been here too long.

“And I still, every day, I feel a tremendous humbling and sense of privilege that I’m able to do the work that I came to Washington to do, that the president [has] empowered me.”

I will be the first to admit I was less than thrilled when she was initially named to the administration, but I think she has proven herself as an asset (I can’t say the same about her husband).

I don’t always agree with her, but that is fine. I think the sounding board she provides to the President is far more important than my personal opinion or her, especially considering how important her demographic of voters will be in the upcoming election.

Having said all that, it would be perfectly understandable if she decided to leave to spend more time with her family after giving four years of her life to this administration and this country.
