Ilhan Omar Files For Divorce As Adultery Claims Against Her Continue
Ilhan Omar,37, has filed for divorce from her husband, Ahmed Hirsi on Friday in Minnesota. She stated that the reason for the divorce filing was ‘irretrievable breakdown’ of the marriage.
Hirsi and Ilhan were legally married in 2018 and have three children. They were together for several years before she married her first husband, and got back together again after her first divorce. Omar was in the West African country of Burkina Faso on Friday, it was there that she signed the paperwork for the divorce.
The case has been filed in, Hennepin District Court in Minnesota. Interestingly, the paperwork was filed a month after a woman in D.C. accused Omar of having an affair with her husband. At the time that the adultery claims surfaced, Omar was asked about it.
She denied the claims and said they were false and she was married to Hirsi. Since that, she has declined to discuss her personal life. Omar’s personal attorney, Jamie Diggs issued a statement on behalf of the squad member.
Her attorney said, “As with all marriages this is intensely personal and a difficult time for the family. For years Ilhan and Ahmed have been the object of speculation and innuendo by political opponents and the media”.
Omar Lawyer Diggs Says This Has Taken A Toll On The Family & They Are Requesting Privacy
Omar’s lawyer Mr. Diggs, was asked if the allegations of an affair are true, he declined to comment. He said that Omar’s office will only be discussing official matters going forward. Omar has been consistently plagued with issues concerning her personal life since she surfaced in 2016.
Some allegations about her, have been that she was married to two men at the same time, and one of them was her brother. She called all of those claims “disgusting lies”. There has been varying accounts of the time line of when one of her marriages ended and the other one began.
President Donald Trump has targeted Omar and the other squad members on a regular basis. Trump said that the claim that Omar married her brother is true and ‘has been verified by several sources’.
Trump said all of the squad members should return to their countries of origin. POTUS said, “we have enough of our problems to clean up without these women here.”
Ilhan Said In The Past That Hirsi Is The Father Of All Three Of Her Children
Omar has said in the past, that she was only briefly separated from Hirsi when she was married to her first husband. The timeline of her marriages have always been a source of confusion, because of her changing stories regarding them.
When her detractors checked official records, she legally married Hirsi in 2018, shortly after her first divorce was finalized. Beth Mynett filed for divorce from her husband Tim Mynett in August.
The former couple live in D.C. Mr. Mynett was a paid political consultant on Omar’s political campaign. Mrs. Mynett claimed she filed for divorce after Mr. Mynett, said that he was ‘in love with Omar’.
The reason for the Mynett divorce according to the filing is ‘adultery’. Both Mynett and Omar denied that they were romantically involved, but have been photographed together at several events in D.C. And other cities.
