House Intelligence Committee Releases Impeachment Report

Adam Schiff

The much-anticipated House Intelligence Committee findings on impeachment were released and the report very much affirms our earlier suspicions.

The report seems to focus on two main areas.

Those areas being Trump strong-arming Ukraine for political gain and working towards influencing the 2020 election.

Nothing New

Honestly, the report does not really bring about anything new from what I have read of it thus far.

The report reads very much luck statements made from Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the House Intelligence Chairman, during the public hearings.

The only real new push would be the influencing of the 2020 election rather than tainting the 2016 election.

The report tries to breach the topic of Trump’s strong-arming of Ukraine to encourage Russia to once again try to infiltrate our election systems.

The report, in part, states, “The President engaged in this course of conduct for the benefit of his own presidential reelection, to harm the election prospects of a political rival, and to influence our nation’s upcoming presidential election to his advantage.

“In doing so, the President placed his own personal and political interests above the national interests of the United States, sought to undermine the integrity of the U.S. presidential election process, and endangered U.S. national security.”

When the report was released, Schiff also sent out a tweet with a link to the report, which you can see below…

Pushing Back

Republicans must have gotten an idea of what the report was going to say because they released a 123-page report earlier in the day in a pre-emptive strike.

The White House was quick to respond to the report as well.

Stephanie Grisham, the White House Press Secretary, stated, “At the end of a one-sided sham process, Chairman Schiff and the Democrats utterly failed to produce any evidence of wrongdoing by President Trump.

“This report reflects nothing more than their frustrations.

“Chairman Schiff’s report reads like the ramblings of a basement blogger straining to prove something when there is evidence of nothing.”

The report, assuming the House Intelligence Committee votes along party lines, will now be forwarded to the House Judiciary Committee, where the responsibility will lie to incorporate its findings into impeachment documents, should Democrats decide to move forward.
