After this man strips down naked, he broke into this home in a high-end neighborhood to murder the family members. Did his plan succeed?
Let’s back up here for starters. Apparently, a Bel Air (Los Angeles) homeowner is now in some intense shock after coming face to face with a man who was not only violent, but he was also completely naked and intent on killing his family pets.
Mat Sabz was the homeowner, and he was alone at the residence when his wife called him and told him a shocking story indeed. Evidently there was a naked man who was trying to break into the home and she had seen the whole debacle on their security cameras.
After further investigation, Sabz explained the harrowing scene:
“I see a man downstairs, eye to eye. Immediately I raised my voice and pointed at him saying ‘hey what are you doing,’” Sabz said to FOX 11.
But that encounter did not stop the nude intruder one bit.
“He didn’t leave. He looked at me and said ‘this is my house, what are you doing here’ and before I could say a word he said ‘I’m going to call the police’. And right away I realized that this is not a person that you want to engage with any further,” Sabz stated.
Of course, Mat did the best he could to get away from this demented would-be murderer and home invader. He ran into a room and barricaded himself in there in order to have some sort of protection. Meanwhile, the intruder went back downstairs and not only made himself at home, he took a dip in the family pool and was trying on clothes!
The suspect then saw the two parakeets belonging to the homeowner.
“First he smiled at them like a serial killer. He put his hands near them, dropped them, and stomped on them. The other bird knew what was going on. You can hear the bird screaming and he did the same thing with the second bird. And that kind of changed everything when we saw that he killed these two defenseless animals.”
Meanwhile, Mat was upstairs and he realized that the only way he was going to escape this madness was to jump off of HIS OWN balcony and on top of his car, no less! He called 911 and neighborhood law enforcement soon arrived to arrest the intruder.
“Who knew what this man would have done to my family if they had been home,” Sabz said.
Authorities finally determined that the man was 34-year-old Paul Kiyan. Apparently, he had gotten access to the house by finding a garage door opener from an unlocked car. One thing is for sure….these homeowners are definitely going to be locking their cars from here on out. Especially when they have a mentally ill person who strips down and invades their home!
After the man strips down naked, he would ultimately be charged with four felony counts, including one count each of first-degree residential burglary with a person present as well as two counts of cruelty to an animal. This case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, West Los Angeles Division.
Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon weighed in on some of the crimes of this disturbed individual: “Pets are part of our extended family and the loss of a pet, let alone two, can be devastating.”
