Gang War Turns Bloody: 2 Dead, 12 Injured

With police spread too thin to do much good, local gang bangers drew down on each other in the streets leaving innocent bystanders dead and wounded in the massacre. Here’s another perfect example of why vigilant citizens need to take the law into their own hands. The police aren’t the slightest bit interested in preserving law and order. For them it’s down to a battle for basic survival. And they’re losing.

Gang violence overshadows holiday

It was just another night in Joliet Township, according to a spokesperson for the Will County Sheriff’s Office. Gang? not a word about those. But so far, two are confirmed dead, there are four on the critical list and “at least 12 people suffered gunshot wounds.” It was a typical “backyard house party in the 1000 block of East Jackson Street.”

The one thing the Sheriff won’t say a word about was leaked by one of the local natives. “Joliet resident Bob Hernandez was the first person at the scene to report on the crime.” He posted a vid on Facebook Live. “I was told by one of my followers they heard over 30 shots fired, and it was at a party which they heard involved rival gangs.”

By Monday, October 1, the coroner “identified the two people killed as Holly Matthews and Jonathan Ceballos, both 22 and from Joliet.” Not a word about gang affiliations. “Matthews was studying to be an arborist at Joliet Junior College and just got engaged two weeks ago.

Ceballos was remembered by a friend as a talented athlete and straight-A student.” The Halloween party shootout “occurred outside the residence near a DJ booth that was set up in the backyard.”

Word on the street is that “there were close to 200 people attending the party, which was across the street from Ridgewood Park.”

As far as police can piece together from what the witnesses told them, “there were two shooters at the party.” Probably from a rival gang to the ones holding the monster mash, but the police don’t say.

Both wearing hoodies

Gunfire erupted “from an elevated position on a porch looking down over the crowd.” The first gang affiliated assassin is “average sized, Hispanic male with facial hair, wearing a red hoodie, a black flat-billed hat and dark pants.”

His compadre is described as “an average sized, light-skinned Black man or Hispanic man wearing a yellow hoodie and ski mask.” They shouldn’t be hard to spot.

The Sheriff knows how to use Facebook too so they posted that “a patrol sergeant with the Will County Sheriff’s Office heard 10 to 12 gunshots at 12:39 a.m. in the area.” That was his first clue that the nightly gang war was about to happen on his patrol.

He reports he observed “more than 100 people fleeing, running eastbound on Jackson Street.” He had to put down his donut to go find out what was up. He yelled for help while still licking jelly off his fingers.

“While sheriff’s office personnel were on scene, additional shots were heard in the immediate area.” They didn’t shoot back or arrest anyone though.

Shooting at criminals gets you in trouble, one female Chicago PD officer learned, when she was carjacked over the weekend. In the gang shooting, “more than a dozen people were injured by gunfire and transported to local hospitals.” The two fatalities were pronounced dead at the scene.
