The acts of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) during the SOTU last night was reprehensible.
That opinion is to be expected of Trump supporters, but one opinion that should hold more weight than anyone is that of Newt Gingrich, the former GOP Speaker.
Gingrich was livid, calling for her to be censured for her actions.
Calling Out Nancy
We always see bipartisan behavior during the course of the State of the Union address.
This is to be expected and has taken place since the address has been turned into the spectacle that it is today.
When policy issues are discussed, we expect to see the opposing party remain seated.
However, when issues are discussed that benefit all Americans, we expect both parties to stand and applaud the achievement.
Last night, Democrats regularly sat during what should be considered bipartisan points.
That was bad enough, but Nancy’s behavior throughout the speech was despicable.
She shuffled through papers, she was speaking to herself, she was rolling her eyes and making faces, then came the end of the speech.
As Trump was winding down and getting ready to leave the dais, Pelosi shredded the State of the Union copy she was given by Trump.
Something like this has NEVER happened, and Gingrich was quick to point that out…
As Speaker of the House for four State of the Unions by a President of the other party I am disgusted and insulted by the viciously partisan action of Nancy Pelosi tearing up the speech. She isn’t clever or cute her childishness insults our American traditions -should be censured.

It Wasn’t Just a Speech
Speeches such as this are not just speeches.
Many people look at this as a national archive and the property of We the People.
Pelosi not only shredded Trump’s words, but she also shredded precious memories of many Americans that were brought in as guests last night.
The White House was quick to point this out…
Speaker Pelosi just ripped up:
One of our last surviving Tuskegee Airmen.
The survival of a child born at 21 weeks.
The mourning families of Rocky Jones and Kayla Mueller.
A service member's reunion with his family.
That's her legacy.

Pelosi cost her party dearly last night.
How bad that was, we will find out on election day.
