Former Democrat Goes Full MAGA

Leo Terrell in MAGA hat on Fox News interview

Leo Terrell, a civil rights attorney, has officially switched party affiliation, and donned a Make America Great Again hat signed by President Trump himself. Terrell has stated that he believes that President Trump has done more for the black community than Obama or Biden.

Why Not Biden/Harris

“I ask, what has Biden done for Black America? Itā€™s not just Biden ā€” or his dubious choice for vice president ā€” that has me casting a Republican ballot,” said Terrell.

Terrell, in an interview on Fox News, references two incidents of racist comments by Joe Biden. The first comment occurred in an interview with Charlamagne tha God, where Biden said, ā€œI tell you if you have a problem figuring out whether youā€™re for me or Trump, then you ainā€™t Black.ā€ The second was his recent statement alluding to the idea that black people all think the same way.

Terrell believes that Kamala Harris was chosen to “insulate” Biden from claims of racism. He says that black elected officials like Mia Love and Tim Scott were elected based on merit, while Kamala Harris was an “affirmative action” pick. Mia Love was the first black female Republican elected to Congress, while Tim Scott is the current Republican senator from South Carolina.

“She’s not qualified to be one heartbeat away from the highest office in the land… The only thing she’s truthful about is one thing – she called Joe Biden a racist,” said Terrell.

Leaving the Democrat Party

Leo Terrell does not believe that he left the Democrat party, rather, that the party left him.Ā This echoes similar statements from many Americans, especially from the #WalkAway movement.

Terrell brings up many issues with the Democrat party today, including pandering to extremists, and indifference to the corrosion of America’s largest cities. “We need Democrats to acknowledge that ALL Black lives matter …

that it means more than just the George Floyds of the world. It means the Black-on-Black crime thatā€™sĀ killing children in Chicago, and the looting and riots that killed retired St. Louis police captainĀ David Dorn, a Black man,” said Terrell.

Why He Chose Trump

“My vote depends upon one thing: who will fight for every American in this country? Itā€™s the candidate who will fight for law and order, and fight for equality of educational opportunities. My vote has been earned by a Republican, and that is our current President, Donald J. Trump,” said Terrell.
