Democrats have a really cowardly way of criticizing Donald Trump at events where political rhetoric has no place.
To be clear, I did not like Rep. Elijah Cummings one bit, however, I would not dare tear him down on the day of his funeral.
If I were a supporter of Cummings, nor would I choose that day to take cheap shots at someone else without having the courage to actually name that individual.
Parade of Cheap Shots
What I just described, however, is exactly what Democrats did today during Elijah Cummings’ funeral.
President Trump was ridiculed by the media for not attending the event where Cummings was laid in state or the actual funeral itself.
Considering the history between these two men, can anyone really blame him?
Had he shown up, he would have been ripped to shreds, so this was a no-win situation for Trump.
As it turns out, he was ripped to shreds at the funeral anyway, led by our former president, Barack Obama.
In a line that Obama was clearly aiming at Trump, he stated, “You’re not a sucker to have integrity and to treat others with respect.”
Hillary Clinton was no better, stating, “He had little tolerance for those who put party ahead of country or partisanship above truth. But he could find common ground with anyone willing to seek it with him.”
Bill Clinton also took a turn, stating, “You can’t run a free society if you have to hate everybody you disagree with.”
Cummings’ wife also took time to make a veiled hit on Trump, stating, “What Congressman — Chairman Cummings did was not easy. And it got infinitely more difficult in the last months of his life, when he sustained personal attacks and attacks on his beloved city. And while he carried himself with grace and dignity in all public forums, it hurt him.”
This was very similar to what Trump’s detractors did during the John McCain funeral.
They use a solemn setting to tap into emotion while making blatant partisan attacks yet we all know they are about as corrupt as it gets.
Barack Obama constantly acts as though he is the conscience of America, yet many of his administration officials are now under criminal investigation by U.S. Attorney Durham, so Obama is either a complete moron with a rogue administration or he was complicit.
As I stated, it sickens me that Democrats would take such a solemn occasion when they were supposed to be mourning and celebrating the life of someone they deemed to be great to take partisan shots at a sitting president.
Yet, they will all scream from the high heavens next time Trump calls any of them out on an issue and the media will join in on the lynching of him.
This is the world we live in, patriots, the sad, sad world we live in.
