The Duck Dynasty family is thanking its fans for their support following a scary drive-by shooting on their Louisiana property.
Speaking to a local newspaper, Willie Robertson said, “We were pretty shook up. It looks like they were just spraying bullets across my property.”
Willie, 48, was not at home at the time, but several family members were present, including his wife, Korie, their children, John Luke and Sadie, their spouses, and an infant grandson.
On Instagram, Sadie, 22, wrote:
“Hi, yes the news is true if you’ve seen it. We had someone shoot at our property. Just wanted to say we are all okay. It shook us all up of course, but we are just so thankful everyone in our family is okay.”
Evidently, Daniel Dean King drove his lifted F-250 pickup truck by the Robertson’s gated property in West Monroe and opened fire with a .380 caliber firearm.
Between 8 and 10 bullets hit the house, including one that went through a window. Luckily, no one was hurt.
Mary Kate, John Luke’s wife, also used Instagram to update concerned fans.
“We had a scary situation as someone shot into our home Friday and at our family’s home as well. John Luke, John Shepherd, and I were all home and we are just so thankful for the Lord keeping us safe.”
Korie Robertson, 46, took to Instagram to express the gratitude of the Duck Dynasty family.
“It was scary and dangerously close, but thanks to God no one was hurt. And today we got to participate in a drive-by birthday celebration! Crazy how life works! We honked our horns and made signs. We are alive and well, and not taking this day for granted!”
Duck Dynasty Shooter Arrested and Charged
According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, King, who admits he was drinking vodka at the time, was arrested and charged with one count of felony assault and two counts of misdemeanor criminal neglect.
His bond was set at $150,000.
The Duck Dynasty family was also granted a protective order. King must stay at least 1000 feet away from John Luke, Mary Kate, and their son for two years.
