Dems Upset McConnell Coordinating with White House, but They Did Far Worse during Clinton’s Impeachment

Mitch McConnell

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) recently stated he will be coordinating the impeachment trial with the White House.

Liberals have come out of the woodwork to criticize him for this, but they are, once again, proving how hypocritical our government officials can be.

The Outrage

McConnell was blasted on both sides of the aisle after he made his statement.

Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said that McConnell’s announcement “disturbed her.”

Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) stated, “Saying you’re only going to do just what the president wants is totally out of line and Mitch McConnell has receives a lot of justified criticism for that.”

The Reality

What Schumer and nobody else seems to want to talk about was hell well-coordinated Democrats were during the Clinton impeachment.

Peter Baker wrote a book in Clinton’s impeachment and according to Baker, Democrats worked behind the scenes with Clinton’s legal team on virtually every aspect of the impeachment process.

Baker claims that White House Counsel Charles Ruff created a “secret sign” that could be used between Democrat leadership and Ruff.

When Ruff wanted to argue against a point made by the Republican House Managers, he would make the sign, then Democrat leadership would submit a question to the presiding Justice, requiring the White House to respond.

This, by the way, is completely illegal and against the rules.

The book claimed several Democrat Senators were used during this process.

Two of the Senators believed to have been used in this manner were Senators Patrick Leahy (D-CT) and Chris Dodd (D-CT).

Rather than go for an immediate vote, as many Republicans have already stated they would prefer, Democrat leadership told the White House to NOT present a motion to dismiss the case.

Instead, leadership wanted to “concentrate on sending softball questions to the White House lawyers so they could score rhetorical points.”

This is typical, as one party always seems to get outraged when the other party does or says exactly what they said or did when that party was in the same spot.

It is political theater, where they all have mock outrage then go have drinks together and slap each other on the back.

It is for that exact reason that we need to set term limits and flush the old heads out of D.C. to bring in fresh blood that will actually respect the position and truly represent We the People.
