One would think when the House was voting on the impeachment of the president of the United States, the proceedings would hold everyone sitting on the panel’s attention.
For at least one Democrat, however, that was not the case.
Golf is More Interesting
Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA) was a member of the panel voting on the articles of impeachment to remove Trump from office.
Considering the magnitude of the situation, we would think he would actually be paying attention during the entire proceeding, right?
That, however, was not the case.
Richmond was caught on video watching his laptop during the proceedings.
Now, this would not be an issue if he was conducting some last-minute research prior to casting his vote, but that is not what he was doing.
Instead, he appeared to be watching the President’s Cup on his computer…
What on earth is Democrat Rep. Cedric Richmond watching on his laptop during this impeachment markup?
To me, it looks like Rep. Richmond is watching the President’s Cup golf tournament.

Keep in mind, this was the same man that recently called the impeachment a “watershed moment,” pleading with Republicans to vote in favor of the impeachment…
"How do you want to be remembered during this watershed moment in our nation's history?
I ask my Republican colleagues: Will you stand with [Trump] and allow your legacy to be tied to his actions? If the tables were turned, do you think he would stand with you?" —@RepRichmond pic.twitter.com/Fa3QoiJooa

Funny, but Not Funny
When the video first surfaced, there were plenty of chuckles.
This, though, is hardly a laughing matter considering what Richmond was about to vote on.
Seeing this, we cannot help but think Richmond had made up his mind about whether or not to impeach Trump long before these hearings ever started.
That being the case, he obviously felt that he did not have to pay attention.
Now, aside from that issue, he simply is not doing his job.
The people of this country foot the bill for his and every member of Congress’ paycheck to do their job when they are on the clock.
Can you imagine your boss walking into your office when you were supposed to be preparing a report or some other assignment only to see that you were streaming a sporting event or movie on your computer?
What are the chances you would not at the very least be suspended, if not fired?
Sadly, nothing will happen to Richmond because, for Democrats, this is business as usual.
