Country music legend Tanya Tucker was forced to cancel the rest of her shows for July after she underwent emergency hip surgery on July 15.
After doctors discovered a fracture in her hip, popular country singer Tanya Tucker, 62, was admitted to the hospital for an emergency hip replacement surgery.
Representatives for Tucker issued a statement about the surgery, which read:
“It is with regret that we have to cancel all shows for the remainder of July as Tanya has been admitted to the hospital today for an emergency hip replacement surgery as an MRI has revealed a hip fracture that requires immediate attention. We truly appreciate you.”
According to Tucker, the surgery was a success, but she will have to be off the road for a few weeks to heal.
The “Delta Dawn” singer released her own personal statement to her fans on Twitter on the evening of July 15 following her surgery, writing:
“Hey Loves, My hip has been giving me hell for awhile now & the docs discovered a hip fracture. I had to have surgery right away. The operation went well & I’m on track for a speedy recovery. I’ll be at home healing for a few weeks… I LOVE y’all & a bad hip can’t keep me down!”
