Long Time Republican Congressman Of Wisconsin Sean Duffy Will Resign On September 23

Congressman Sean Duffy, 48, is expecting his 9th child a girl, with wife Rachel Compos-Duffy,47. Both Duffy and Compos-Duffy, are former reality TV stars, both appearing on MTV’s ‘Real World’.

The couple both practicing Catholics are expecting their 9th child, a girl in October. Duffy said their daughter has challenges ahead, including a serious health condition. He will leave his position as a U.S. Representative for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District.

Duffy explained in a statement, that he finds it necessary to step down in order to care for his daughter. He also said he must focus on his large family and be able to stay close to home. Duffy’s official resignation date is September 23rd, 2019, he is a former District Attorney for Ashland County, Wisconsin. He served from 2002 until 2010 as a district attorney. He’s been in office as a Congressman since 2011.

Duffy Thanked His Constituents In His Official Statement Released On Monday

Duffy; “After 8 ½ years, the time has come for me to focus more on the reasons we fight these battles, family. As you know raising a family is hard work. It’s especially true for one as large and busy as mine. Being away from home in Washington for days a week, is challenging. For that reason, I have always been open to signs from God. Especially when it comes to serving both my family and my country.

Recently we have learned that our baby due in late October, will need even more love,time, and attention due to complications. One of those complications is a heart condition.

With much prayer I have decided that this is the right time to take a break from public service. I must be the support my wife and baby and family need from me right now.”

Sean Duffy Remarked Marrying His Wife Rachel & Representing The People Of Wisconsin Are High Points

Duffy said that marrying his wife Rachel in 1999 and representing the people of Wisconsin’s 7th District, are high points. Furthermore Duffy said these things have been the highest honors of his life. He said, “together we have engaged in the most important battles of our time. Duffy went on to say, ‘protecting speech and religious liberty and taking care of veterans were all victories.

He said ‘defending the unborn and saving American jobs and American capitalism were each high points. Duffy also said, that he truly loved being a Congressman, but his first love is his family. He thanked everyone for praying for his family and unborn baby.

Duffy said for him and his wife Rachel and their families the support means the world to them. Rachel Compos-Duffy starred on MTV’s Real World; San Francisco in 1994, with the controversial AIDS activist Pedro Zamora.

The two butted heads on the show, due to her Republican leans and his liberal points of view. Compos-Duffy was a guest speaker at the 1996 Republican Convention in San Diego. She is a former political analyst for ‘Fox News’.
