Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg just made a major mistake that is going to cost him dearly with the true patriots of this country.
After reports surfaced that the downed Ukrainian airliner with 176 souls on board was actually shot down by one of the missiles launched by Iran, Buttigieg all but blamed Trump for the incident.
The Downed Airliner
Tragically, a plane carrying 176 people, at least 60 of them Canadian citizens, was shot down in the midst of the attack by Iran on our military base in Iraq.
Initially, reports stated that it was a mechanical failure, but news reports and satellite imagery tell a much different story.
Yesterday afternoon, our Pentagon confirmed reports that the satellite photos show a surface-to-air missile launched by Iran was responsible for the airliner going down and killing everyone aboard.
Reporters and Democrats could not point the blame on Trump quick enough, and Pete Buttigieg was among those that suggested Donald Trump was to be held responsible for these deaths.
To be very clear, it is common protocol that when a strike such as this is being launched, the airspace around the assault area will be deemed off-limits for commercial air traffic.
That responsibility falls to the country carrying out the attack, not the county being attacked.
Buttigieg knows this, yet he still decided to politicize the tragedy to make points, but it did not really play very well.
Immediate Backlash
The ink was not even dry on Buttigiegâs tweet when criticism for his comments started to blow up on Twitter.
Among the first to react was Texas Senator Ted CruzâŚ
Uh, Pete, they werenât âcaught in the middle.â They were shot down BY IRAN. Military incompetence by the leading state sponsor of terrorism. Just because Dems hate Trump doesnât justify false equivalence w/ Iran. Soleimani was a brutal terrorist who killed hundreds of Americans. https://t.co/KiGS8p5kHL

David French, a veteran and journalist, also took a shot at PeteyâŚ
Nope. Nope. Nope.
Iran launched a missile strike against our own troops, and then blundered by shooting down a civilian airliner when it wasn't even under attack. That's the story. This is on Iran. https://t.co/VzjnJk2jR8

Dana Loesch also had a rather nice shot against Buttigieg, stating that perhaps he forgot to use some letters on his keyboard when he typed out his idiotic tweetâŚ
The I, R, A, and N keys must be missing from his keyboard. https://t.co/qt1iM4oi0H

John Noonan further made my point about the airspace being shut down, again, a fact Buttigieg should be aware ofâŚ

When CNN analyst Susan Hennessey hinted the downing of the airliner was also Trumpâs fault, she too got called out for her commentsâŚ
There was no crossfire. If reports are true, it means an airliner full of hundreds of people was shot down by Iran just after Iran launched strikes against Iraqi bases housing U.S. service members. The U.S. didnât fire back then or since. No crossfireâ only Iran fired that night. https://t.co/9EnCbiyu0P

Barack Obama carried out thousands of drone strikes while he was in office, killing hundreds of civilians in the process, including one that took out a wedding reception, and all we ever heard from the liberal media was crickets. Â
Trump takes out arguably the most dangerous terrorist in the world with a precision strike that injured no civilians, and he is being treated like a war criminal.
If that does not scare you as to the direction of the Democrat party and the left-leaning mainstream media, well, then, consider yourself one of the liberal horde.
