A burglar was found dead after attempting a really dumb stunt, and unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that a burglar has died.
In the latest incident, a burglar died after he became trapped inside the exhaust fan of a New Jersey Italian restaurant on Monday, according to authorities.
This incident occurred just before 10 a.m at Two Brothers From Italy restaurant located on the West White Horse Pike in Galloway Township, New Jersey, according to police.
Once they arrived, police officers discovered that there was an unidentified white male who had attempted to get inside the restaurant through the rooftop exhaust fan during the middle of the night. Needless to say, it didn’t work out well for him.
During this burglary attempt, the perpetrator wound up getting trapped in the exhaust fan and was not able to free himself.
Identification of the male is pending investigation by both the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the Galloway Township police. The following agencies assisted the Galloway Township Police:
Pomona Fire Department
Galloway Twp. Ambulance Squad
Atlantic City Fire Department
Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office
If this had been the only time that a burglar had died while attempting felony breaking and entering, this would be bad enough. However, there have been plenty of other cases as well.
For example, there was a case in 1996 where a man was attempting to break into a window that was 18 inches and 15 inches wide. While he probably would have been able to do that, the window was partially blocked by a heating duct. Moreover, his bulky clothing didn’t help matters either. Unfortunately, he eventually froze to death that night.
Another case happened just last March when another would-be burglar died after he got trapped between two buildings.
This just goes to show you, folks. Let your kids know that either way, crime still does not pay!
