BREAKING: President Trump and First Lady Melania Test Positive for COVID

President Trump and First Lady Melania test positive for COVID

President Donald Trump tweeted that he and Melania, the first lady, had both tested positive for COVID late Thursday evening.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19,” the president tweeted on his official Twitter account.

“We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” he continued.

President Trump has indicated that he and first lady Melania Trump will be going into quarantine immediately.

Trump Administration Members Have Tested Positive

This news came shortly after the president confirmed that Hope Hicks, his long-time aide, had tested positive for COVID.

“Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible!” he tweeted.

Hicks reportedly traveled with President Trump numerous times recently, including on Air Force One en route to the first presidential debate. She was also traveling on the presidential helicopter for a campaign rally in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Hicks has been a personal aide to President Trump since before he was elected.

She is not the first member of the Trump administration to contract COVID, though she is one of the closest to the president. Back in March, Vice President Mike Pence’s secretary tested positive for COVID. Luckily, neither the vice president or the president caught the virus at that time.

Representative Louie Gohmert also tested positive for COVID in July when he took a test at the White House in order to visit President Trump.
