It’s finally happening. Joe Biden, the former Vice-President and presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee is officially under investigation for alleged sexual assault.

A D.C. Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson said, “This is an active ongoing investigation and there are no further details to provide at this time.”

“Cases that are handled by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit go through a multi-review prior to being assigned a disposition. This case is progressing through the review process.”

Because the statute of limitations to prosecute has expired, officially opening an investigation is a somewhat unusual move. This suggests that the Metro Police Department believes the accusation is credible.

A Graphic Accusation against Joe Biden

The investigation is in response to Biden’s alleged sexual assault against former campaign staffer Tara Reade. Be warned, the account is disturbing.

According to Ms. Reade, she was working on the Delaware Senator’s campaign when her supervisor asked her to bring a gym bag up to him. When she arrived, Biden pushed her against the wall and sexually assaulted her.

“I went down, and I was heading down towards there. He was at first talking to someone…and then they went away. We were in, like, the side, like the side area, and he just said, ‘Hey, come here Tara’,” Ms. Reade recalled.

She continued, “I handed him the thing. He greeted me. He remembered my name. And then we were alone. It was the strangest thing. There was no like exchange really. He just had me up against the wall. I was wearing, like, a skirt, a business skirt.

It happened all at once…his hands were on me and underneath my clothes. Yeah, and he went down my skirt but then up inside it, and he penetrated me with his fingers, and he was kissing me at the same time, and he was saying something to me. He said several things. I can’t remember everything he said,” Reade recounted.

But she does remember that Biden asked her if she “wanted to go somewhere else.” When she resisted, he allegedly said, “Come on, man. I heard you liked me.”

No Cocept of Wrongdoing

After the assault, Reade pulled away. According to her story, Biden then pointed his finger at her and said, “You’re nothing to me, nothing.”

Ms Reade says she must have then responded emotionally, because Biden took her by the shoulders once again. He told her, “You’re OK. You’re fine. You’re OK.” He then picked up his bag and walked away.

Although she can’t remember the exact date and location, Ms. Read says the incident most likely happened in the basement of a Senate office building, probably during the Spring of 1993.

Not Politically Motivated

Meanwhile, some Biden supporters have tried to discredit Ms. Reade’s story, saying that she has some political agenda to smear Joe Biden. However, not only does she deny that accusation, Reade’s own history doesn’t support it.

A self-described third-generational Democrat, Ms. Reade says, “This isn’t a partisan issue. This is about power and the abuse of power, and the people around that person that enabled that behavior.”

Multiple Women Coming Forward

But there are two considerations that come to mind about this latest allegation about Joe Biden.

FIRST, Ms. Reade’s story is not an isolated incident. In fact, a total of eight women have come forward. They accuse Biden of touching them in ways that made them feel uncomfortable.

And these are not anonymous insinuations, either. These are women who cared enough to give their names:

  • Lucy Flores
  • Amy Lappos
  • D.J. Hill
  • Caitlyn Caruso
  • Ally Coll
  • Sofie Karasek
  • Vail Kohnert-Yount
  • Tara Reade

Ms. Caruso, who alleges a sexual assault in 2016, at an event at the University of Nevada, says:

“It doesn’t even really cross your mind that such a person would dare perpetuate harm like that. These are supposed to be people you can trust.”

But Ms. Lappos as harsher in her criticism. “I never filed a complaint, to be honest, because he was the Vice-President. I was a nobody. There’s absolutely a line of decency. There’s a line of respect.”

“Crossing that line is not grandfatherly. It’s not cultural. It’s not affection. It’s sexism or misogyny.”

The Words of Joe Biden

SECOND, Biden’s own words damn him. When sexual assault allegations were made against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Biden said, “for a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real.

Obviously, this story is still developing. We will post updates as they come.

In the meantime, we welcome your comments and thoughts.

  2. Like a lot of politicians the old jerk thought he was entitled to do whatever he wanted to do…not so fast mister hands…you are nothing!

  3. Ain’t nuffin gonna be done. I love how all the women’s groups are coming together to blame the man, just like they did in the Supreme Court judge nomination. I remember how they all said that in these cases, “The woman is to believed every time” ——–However, this time is the exception. 🙁

  4. Nothing official ever happens to someone as prominent and powerful as Biden. Bad publicity? Yes. An arrest? No way.

  5. AS Hirono would say “THEY MUST BE BELIEVED” oops that must be for Republicans, No Democrat would do such things. 🙂

  6. Why did the Democrats scream over other cases just like this but they support him and you can tell by his actions the man is sick in the head !
