Cold hard reparations money is the only solution to all the “racial disparities in the state” of Oregon. Portland’s Senator Lew Frederick can’t wait to start passing out government cash. Every single Black citizen of his state can expect a check for $123,000 every year for life, or until the system collapses, whichever comes first.
Reparations, one way or another
One way or another, State Senator Frederic is determined to get a lot more green into the Black community. He sponsored a bill, then another one in case the first one doesn’t work.
Democrats are thrilled to report that his bills “provide a path towards making the case for reparations, and setting the framework for how they would be distributed.”
His first idea, Senate Bill 618 asks if there is a case to be made for cash relief, then Bill 619 says that they should make a case for it.
In the words of the author, “Senate Bill 618 really says is there a case to be made for reparations — that’s what 618 does. 619 says if there is a case to made, how will that be done.” That, everyone suggests, is the big question. Catch a unicorn and sell the pixie dust it farts?
With typical socialist Robbing Hood style economics, the general plan is to take the money away from White people in their taxes then distribute it to Black people. Robin of Locksley stole from the crooked tax collector and gave the money back to the rightful owners, but somehow Democrats have twisted that legend a little over the centuries.
“The Department of Revenue shall establish a program to pay reparations to Black Oregonians who can demonstrate heritage in slavery and who submit an application to the department no later than December 31, 2022.”
$123,000 annually for the life
Once the reparations bill goes through as expected in the firmly Democrat controlled New World Order approved government, “the department shall pay to each eligible applicant the amount of $123,000 annually for the life of the applicant.”
There will be some restrictions. “An eligible individual must also have identified as African-American on legal documents for at least 10 years before submitting an application.” If you can check that box off, “a person must have resided in the state of Oregon” for “at least two years.”
All that free reparations money will also be “exempt from garnishment and all state, county and municipal taxation.” Frederick admits there are still some loose ends to be tied up.
“Part of governing, part of being in a situation like this is that you bring up issues, then you discover how you could resolve those issues.” Someone will find a way to make the White people stay in the state and continue paying taxes.
California is already on the bandwagon. Golden State lawmakers “began setting up a task force to study reparations.” Other Democrat enclaves “like Asheville, North Carolina, and Providence, Rhode Island, have proposed measures to address years of injustice.” The tricky part of the Oregon bill will be meeting the requirements, activist Riccardo Waites, remarks.
Especially when you don’t even know who your daddy is. “Who’s going to have evidence of their slave history? Our history has been erased, so who’s going to have that knowledge?” Wow, suddenly “erasing history” is a bad thing. That seditious statement calls for a SWAT team.
