Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) believes that he has the inside track on who is going to replace Joe Biden.
Now, to be clear, there are only two options right now for this to happen.
The Dems would have to use the 25th Amendment to remove Biden or they would have to convince Biden to step down because they cannot force him out at this point.

Cruz is pushing the most popular narrative, which is that Michelle Obama has been waiting in the wings this whole time to replace Joe.
For the record, Michelle Obama has repeatedly said that she has no interest in a political career, and I tend to believe her.
I do so because she and Obama are living a dream life right now, and I just don’t see them putting their rich and famous lifestyle on hold to return to the White House, a place that Michelle Obama despises.
Cruz sees it differently, stating, “The odds have now skyrocketed.
“The odds are north of 80% that the Democratic Party will remove Joe Biden from the ticket and replace him … with Michelle Obama because Biden did so disastrously badly tonight that Democrats across the country are in utter freefall and complete panic.”
If the Democrats use the 25th Amendment, that would install Kamala Harris as president, allowing her to then run as the incumbent, but I don’t see that happening.
That leaves Biden to succumb to pressure to step down at the convention, which would then allow the electors to select his replacement.
Now, think of the narrative that the GOP could then pitch for Democrats having eliminated voters from picking the candidate.
They always call the GOP the threat to democracy, so the pushback on this would be immense.
I still believe that Joe Biden will be the man on the ticket, for better or for worse. The Dems really don’t have a choice at this point.
But don’t feel sorry for them because they are the ones that have been selling Joe Biden as “sharp” for most of the last year.
