It would appear that the Biden administration is just a bit scared of pushing the border issue with Texas in a rather significant case.
This is good news for Texas, but it is more than likely a campaign move to help Kamala Harris.
The DOJ has asked for a 60-day extension before the case regarding the border buoys goes to trial.
Let’s Just Wait
The border has finally become a national issue, something Democrats never thought would happen.
It was so bad, in fact, that Biden actually had to clamp down on the border before the election to get this out of the news cycle.
For all intents and purposes, the media has backed off, so the administration would clearly like to keep it that way.
To that point, the DOJ asked for and received a delay in the border buoy case, which will allow Texas to keep the buoys in place for an additional two months until a ruling is received in the case.
The buoys, which have sharp razors in between them to prevent migrants from climbing over, were placed in the river at the border to slow down illegal immigration.
The Biden administration sued to have them removed based on the danger factor as well as obstructing a waterway.
If the case moved forward, it would bring immigration back to the forefront, which Biden clearly does not want before the election.
So, it would seem migrant safety and an open waterway are only important when it is not an election season.
Regardless, Governor Abbott and Texans are more than happy to keep them in place for a few more months before the case hits the courtroom for a final decision.
