61-year-old Veteran Armed with AR15 Shoots, Kills Thugs Trying to Rob Him

Veteran Defends Home

There is nothing like a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy story, but what would be more appropriate for a great Veteran’s Day story, right?

In early July, a 61-year-old homeowner fended of four men that were attempting to rob his home.

Don’t Mess with Veterans

The would-be thieves would have been well-served to do a bit more diligence on their intended target.

The four men, had they done some research, would have realized this elderly man was not your ordinary senior citizen.

He was not only a veteran but he also regularly kept his shooting skills sharp with target practice in his back yard.

According to police reports and local media, the homeowner heard some noises while he was sleeping.

He quickly grabbed his AR15 that he kept by his bed and took action.

The first man he saw was wearing a mask, and both men fired upon each other.

When all was said and done, two of the would-be thieves were killed, and the homeowner was wounded.

Keith Jackson Jr. 21, died inside the home, with a semi-automatic handgun on his person.

Nigel Doyle, 22, was found nearby with a pump-action shotgun next to him.

The other two alleged robbers, Robert Hamilton, 19, and Seth Rodriguez, 22, were taken into custody.

While the homeowner was not identified in the media, it was reported that he had been wounded in the abdomen during the shootout.

Another Scam

The men gained access to the home via a scam they were running earlier.

One of the thugs knocked on the homeowner’s door pretending to have car problems.

The homeowner told him he was disabled and could not help, then he went to bed.

The men obviously came back thinking they had an easy target, now two of them will never see the light of day and the other two are going to be the main course for worms for about the next decade.
