6 Football Players Arrested [DETAILS]

2021 has not been a good year for the Kentucky football program. On Thursday, six players were charged in connection with an incident which happened in March at a private residence. The team officials knew “this black eye was going to show up.” And it did. Members of coach Mark Stoops’ staff ended up in jail earlier this year.

Players charged and arrested

Vito Tisdale was an up and coming star safety on the field, battling Davonte Robinson for a starting spot, until a party last March. Now, he’s “facing a first-degree wanton endangerment charge, along with a first-degree burglary charge.”

He was accused of waving a gun around. That’s not good for your career. The Kentucky football program frowns on players threatening people with weapons.

Five other players were charged with burglary, including Earnest Sanders IV, freshman receiver; Reuben Adams, freshman guard; Andru Phillips, freshman defensive back; Joel Williams, sophomore defensive back; and Robert McClain, sophomore running back.

The Lexington police issued an official statement about the involvement of the players in the incident. “On Saturday, March 6, 2021, there was a private party being thrown at a residence.

During the party, three individuals entered the residence uninvited and were asked to leave. The individuals became upset and threatened they would return.”

It didn’t end there

Things would have not become so serious if the players had simply gone home to bed. Instead, a “short time later, the three individuals returned with additional subjects.”

That’s when police say they “forced their way into the residence. One suspect was observed pointing a firearm at a victim.” That suspect is Tisdale.

Matt Jones with Kentucky Sports Radio advises not to make too big a deal out of what happened. Most of the players have already been cleared.

“The main point of emphasis will be on Tisdale and did he or did he not have a gun and did anyone actually see and prove it existed and was it pointed at anyone.” Everybody knows what happens when football jocks show up at frat parties.

“The players were told to leave the party after the fight and did. When they returned and entered back in, that became the basis for the burglary charge.”

While nobody will ever know what really happened that night, the coach says they’re taking it seriously. “We are evaluating the current situation as we receive more information.”
